NIT Puducherry admission is mainly entrance-based. According to the NIT Puducherry placement brochure 2025-26, the highest package offered stood at INR 23 LPA grabbed by the MTech ECE branch. The average package recorded for the MTech ECE program was INR 9.63 LPA. Moreover, the overall BTech placement rate was 82.89%. The campus has welcomed over 50 recruiters and placed more than 160 students during the NIT Puducherry placements 2025.
NIT Puducherry has released the placement report for the Class of 2024. According to the report, 56 recruiters participated and placed 158 BTech, 8 MTech, and 6 MSc students of the 2024 batch. The students received 42 dreams and 135 non-dream offers during the placement session 2024.
INR 24 LPA was the highest package offered for BTech in 2024, the minimum package offered for the same course stood at INR 7.9 LPA. For the students of MTech batch, the highest salary package offered was INR 16 LPA, while the average package stood at INR 11.28 LPA.
The institute recorded 80.2% placements for BTech, 57.14% and 31.6% for MTech. For the MSc batch, the placemet percentage was 31.6%.

NIT Puducherry has a dedicated Placement and Training cell that organizes the campus recruitment training process to train the students through various in-house and out-of-the-house training sessions, including aptitude test, technical test, Group Discussions (GD), mock interviews, workshops, etc. It helps the students to prepare for placement interviews in technical and HR aspects by arranging meetings with professional trainers.
